DO I HAVE TO PAY WHEN I PRE-PLAN?

It's not necessary to pay at the time of pre-planning. All choices and decisions as to services and merchandise can be recorded and kept on file at the funeral home at no cost to you.

Receive guarantees from Connell Funeral Home to provide the Services you selected and the Merchandise you selected regardless of the amount in trust at the time of death.

WHAT HAPPENS TO THE MONEY?

The funds are placed in an irrevocable trust with "your" name and social security number.

The funds cannot be accessed or removed by anyone; funeral home, family members, government agency, nursing home or any well meaning third party.

The Irrevocable Trust that is developed is exempted from SSI and Medicaid qualification.

Bottom Line: The funds are there to be used for your funeral to pay for the items you selected.

DO YOU HAVE PAYMENT PLANS?

Yes.

For most individuals, payment plans are available to make a plan affordable for everyone.

Payment plans can be provided for 1 year to 10 years.

IF I PRE-PLAN….. CAN I CANCEL?

If you leave the area you may transfer the funds to another funeral home or if your main residency is outside of the State of Pennsylvania you may request the funds to be returned.

AM I RESPONSIBLE TO PAY TAXES ON THE EARNINGS?

No. The funds are placed into either a trust (which pays the taxes from the earnings) or an insurance policy.

WHAT HAPPENS TO THE INTEREST EARNED ON MY MONEY?

The earnings are kept in the trust to help keep up with any inflationary increases, which allows Connell to offer guarantees on pre-planned funerals.
