Francesca Susan Steingroewer

Francesca Susan Steingroewer, 81, of Hanover Twp. went peacefully to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 12, 2012. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the youngest of three children to the late Pasquale and Antonina Dato. Frances was preceded in death by her beloved husband

of 38 years, Hans G. Steingroewer.

Frances worked as a registered nurse before dedicating her life to her family. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her children, Victoria, wife of Gary Kunkel, of Syracuse, NY; Patrick Steingroewer of Pittsburgh, PA; and Annette, wife of David Rhoads, of Chantilly, VA; eight grandchildren, Danielle (Pat), Susan (Rick), Sarah, Kayla, Matthew, Nicole, Megan and Jeffrey and four great grandchildren, Mollie, Mark, Anna and Charlotte.

Frances was a parishioner of Notre Dame of Bethlehem for 40 years, where she was a member of the 55 Plus Club. She participated in the YMCA Silver Sneakers program, volunteered at St. Luke's Hospital and enjoyed gardening and traveling. Frances was a wonderful cook and her meals were a continual expression of her love. She stayed active in the lives of her children and grandchildren, encouraging them and sharing her many skills and talents.

A visitation will be held at the Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Monday, December 17, 2012. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11am on Tuesday at Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church, 1861 Catasauqua Rd. Bethlehem, PA 18018. A visitation will also be held at the church beginning at 9:45 am. Interment will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
