Janice Anderson, 74, a dedicated school teacher in the Bethlehem School District for more than 30 years, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2012. She was a resident of Westminster Village for several years. Born in Boardman, OH, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Wilma Skirtich Zima. She earned a bachelors degree from Westminster College, a masters degree from Ohio State University and had been a doctoral candidate at Lehigh University. She had been a on the board of managers for the Moravian Historical Society in Nazareth, a board member of the Bethlehem Rose Garden Childrens Festival, facilitated a summer youth guide program for young people in Historical Bethlehem, volunteer tour guide for Bethlehems Sun Inn, and a colonial cooking interpreter at the Burnside Plantation. She was also a board member of the S.T.A.R. Academy at Lehigh University, a board member of the Grace Montessori School in Allentown, and was very active in the First Presbyterian Church of Bethlehem.
Survivors: She is survived by three sons, Carl of Center Valley, Erick of Germansville and Jon of Allentown; three grandchildren; and a brother Jerry Zima of Jacksonville, NC, and his wife Marge Zima.
Services: Arrangements are being made by the Connell Funeral Home in Bethlehem. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, January 28, 2012, at the First Presbyterian Church, 2344 Center Street, Bethlehem, PA 18017.
