Joanne V. Szaryas

Joanne Szaryas, 81, of Nazareth passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hecktown Oaks Campus. Born in Bethlehem she was the daughter of the late Anna (Vago) and Joseph L. Wargo. She was married to Joseph Szaryas with whom she celebrated 59 years of marriage this year.

Joanne worked for Nazareth National Bank for several years as a bookkeeper. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Nazareth.

Joanne loved her several cats and dogs over the years. She enjoyed her time with her girlfriends, especially the trips to Atlantic City, breakfast gatherings and playing dominos. In her spare time she liked her sudoku, word searches and puzzles.

Joanne will be lovingly remembered by her husband, son, David Szaryas, brother, Wayne Wargo, 2 nephews and one niece. She was preceded in death by her sister, Vilma “Penny” SeKoch.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 9-10:30 AM followed by a funeral service at 10:30 AM. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
