Margaret "Peggy" (Unger) Butz, 98, of Bethlehem, died peacefully in her home on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 with her family at her side. Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Wendell and Katherine (Nemeth) Unger. She was the loving wife of the late Horace Butz. They were married 63 years before his death in 2001.
She worked for Laros Textiles in the sales office; afterwards, she worked for Bethlehem Steel during WWII. She was an avid card player, joke teller, loved to crochet and loved the Phillies.
She was a parishioner of Notre Dame Catholic Church and a former parishioner of St. John Capistrano Hungarian Catholic Church.
Peggy was a joy to all who knew her. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Peggy Butz of New York City; and Kathy Reinbold and husband, John, of Bethlehem; and her granddaughter, Emily DeFeo and husband, Anthony, of Wilmington, DE. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Wendell, Francis and Joseph Unger; and sisters, Agatha Rednagle, Rose Unger and Irma Wasylow.
Services: A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, in Bethlehem.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
