Patricia S. Dunne

Patricia S. Dunne, 74, of Jim Thorpe, PA, formerly of Bethlehem, Huntington, West Virginia, Holliston, MA, Venice, West Hollywood, and Los Angeles, CA, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2016, in Kingston, PA. She was born in Bethlehem on November 2, 1941, daughter of the late Sylvan and Kathryn (Saemmer) Serban. Patricia received her MA in psychology counseling from Pepperdine University in 1989 and most recently was a counselor for Cedarbrook Manor in Laurel Run, Pa. Patricia was also an assistant librarian at the Holliston Public Library, MA and the staff librarian at Wrentham State Hospital, MA. She received her BA in English from Framingham State University in 1977, and MS in Library and Information Science from Simmons College 1979. She had moved to California to pursue her interests and further her education in counseling and attended USC before transferring to Pepperdine University and then moving back to PA. She enjoyed reading, libraries, literature and books. She was dedicated to helping others with addictions through her counseling. She enjoyed spending time with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren.

She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Richard Dunne and wife Anne of Narragansett, RI; James Dunne and wife Janice of Medway, MA; and Patrick Dunne and wife Nancy of Saratoga, NY; brothers Robert Serban of Shillington, PA; and Lawrence Serban of Bethlehem; grandchildren, Sean, Sadie, Robert, Madeline, Rianna and Ethan; dearest friend, Wendi Schreiber; niece, Kimberly Orth, and nephew, Eric Dittemore. She was predeceased by her sister, Kathryn Dittemore.

Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. Monday, June 13, 2016, at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018. Calling hours will be held Monday from 4pm-until the time of the service at the funeral home.
