Adam Bernard Rader

Adam Bernard Rader, 87, formerly of Toms River, NJ died on Thursday May 27, 2010 at Cedarbrook Nursing Home in Fountain Hill, Pa.

He was born July 18, 1922 in Jim Thorpe Mauch Chunk, PA, the son of the late Phillip and Mary Dever Rader.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 34 years, Catherine Lehr Rader, who died in 1998.

Adam served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII in the Pacific Theatre.

He retired from Conrail in 1987 and moved to Toms River, NJ where he lived for 17 years and was a founding member of St. Maximillian Kolbe Catholic Church until he moved to Bethlehem in 2004.

Adam will be remembered for being a devoted husband, son, brother and friend, and having a great sense of humor, being a kind and gentle spirit and for being the best uncle in the world.

Survivors: Sister, Rose Rader Reidy of Bethlehem, niece Annie Reidy Hull of Pottsville, Pa. and numerous nieces and nephews, great and great- great nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife , sisters Marie Pollack and Theresa Cadden and brother Joseph Rader predeceased Adam.

Services: Relatives and friends are invited to call Tuesday June 1, 2010 from 11-12 noon at Notre Dame Church 1861 Catasauqua Rd. Bethlehem, Pa. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at noon. Burial will be private at St. Joseph's Cemetery , Tom's River , NJ the following day.
