Adolph W. Locher

Adolph “Ade” W. Locher, Jr., 74 of Easton, died peacefully on Saturday, March 5, 2016, at the St. Lukes VNA Hospice House in Bethlehem. Born March 10, 1941, in Allentown, he was the son of the late Mary (Yurick) and Adolph W. Locher, Sr.

Ade was a graduate of William Allen High School. After high school, he joined the US Navy from 1960-1964 and sailed on the USS Kitty Hawk (CVA-63) on her initial cruises and is a "Plank Owner". He went on to work for Reading Aviation as an aircraft mechanic and retired from Bell and Howell as a machinist. Ade was a member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church in Palmer Township. He had a very artistic touch and inventive mind especially when working with metal and wood. He also enjoyed being out in nature, writing poetry and could always be found in his yard gardening.

Ade was a devoted Dad, Pop Pop, brother, neighbor and always found a friend in a stranger. He will be lovingly remembered by his son, Mark W. Locher; daughter, Carisa Locher; sister, Marie Bartos and three grandchildren, Kayla M. McGarr, Joshua W. Locher and Janelle R. Locher. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon McGarr and sister, Kathryn Sloughfy. He will also be remembered by nieces and nephews and his long time companion Linda Schavemaker.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2016, at St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church 4049 Hartley Ave., Easton, PA 18045 from 11 Am to 12 Pm followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Pm. Burial will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem. Arrangements Connell Funeral Home.

Memorial Contributions may be made in Adolphs name to the St. Lukes Hospice of the VNA 240 Union Station Plaza, 1st Floor, Bethlehem, PA 18015.
