Agnes A. Moroney

Agnes A. Moroney, 72, of Bethlehem, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2015. Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Julia (Hrebin) and John L. McGowan. She was the wife of John M. "Mick" Moroney. They were married for 49 years. She was employed by Lehigh University where she worked in the Development Office for 22 years, retiring in 2006. She was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, a member of their choir and also a member of the Lehigh University Choral Union. She loved spending time with her grandchildren in both Bethlehem and Florida, and was always ready to have a good time, especially at the casino.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, John "Mick" of Bethlehem; sons, Daniel and his wife Tracy of Deerfield Beach, FL and James and his wife Debra of Bethlehem; daughter, Deborah and her husband Clay Brown of Lake Worth, FL; grandchildren, Caitlin, Michael, Sean, Megan and John; great granddaughter, Cateri; sisters, Gloria Ortwein of Lebanon, PA and Eileen Tavares of Bethlehem. She was predeceased by her brother, John J. McGowan.

Viewing hours will be held on Sunday, July 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem and on Monday, July 6, from 9 to 10 a.m. in the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 3219 Santee Rd., Bethlehem. A 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Monday in the church. Burial will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Agnes' name to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
