Aida E. Velez

Aida E. Velez, 66 of Allentown, died at home with her family by her side on March 7, 2021. She was born in Brooklyn, NY; the daughter of the late Francisco and Emelinda (Hernandez) Velez.

Aida will be lovingly remembered as a strong woman with tremendous energy and happiness. She loved life and spending time with her family; especially her grandchildren. Aida enjoyed listening to music and salsa dancing. She was a wonderful cook and her family enjoyed her food. Aida was a talented seamstress and even made her own clothing. When visiting Aida, you would notice her favorite animal, the elephant, as it was decorated around her home.

Aida worked as a certified nursing assistant for ManorCare in Bethlehem until her retirement.

Aida will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter, Priscilla Velez; sons, Austin Elia Lopez; and Edwin Lopez; grandchildren, Justin D. Gregory, Austin E. Lopez, Jr., and Devin L. Gregory; as well as her siblings, Luz Velez, Emelinda Velez, Francisco Velez, Daisy Velez, Felipe Velez, Henry Velez, and Diana Velez. She was preceded in death by her sister, Awilda “Connie” Velez.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Connell Funeral Home and a memorial service will be held in the future.
