Albert J. "Woody" Witcoskie

Albert J. “Woody” Witcoskie, 73, of Bethlehem Twp., died on Monday, June 22, 2015 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Mt. Carmel, PA the son of the late Marie (Schuck) Packard and stepson of the late John J. Packard. He was the loving husband of Joanne (Rutkowski) Witcoskie. They would have celebrated their 49th Wedding Anniversary this August 20th.

Woody worked at Shamoon Industry in Phillipsburg, NJ as a welder, Bethlehem Steel as a Maintenance Supervisor and retired from Kids Peace in Schnecksville from the maintenance department. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army as a Private First Class receiving several marksmanship awards after serving his country in Vietnam. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bethlehem Twp. He was a member of the Steel City Gun Club, Independent Citizens Club, Heights AA Club and the Roosevelt Democratic Club. Woody enjoyed his step-fathers mountain cabin, carpentry, hunting and fishing, Ocean City Maryland Classic Car Show, gardening, bird watching, and being outdoors. He was a fantastic husband and father, vastly knowledgeable “Jack of all trades” and always there if you needed a helping hand.

Woody will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Joanne, daughter, Marlene, and son, David, all of Bethlehem Twp.; and his sister, Evelyn Hudak of Bethlehem. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Witcoskie and his sister, Kathleen Barella.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1817 First St., Bethlehem, PA 18020. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. in the church. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
