Alex Gorsky

Alex Gorsky, 82, of Bethlehem, died on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at St. Luke's Hospital in Fountain Hill. He was born in Northampton; the son of the late Alec Gorsky, Sr. and Susan Meashock Gorsky. He was the

loving husband of Mary Gonda Gorsky. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this past June.

Alex worked for Bethlehem Steel for 34 years as a Turn Foreman. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Bethlehem; a lifetime member of the American Legion

in Hellertown; the Heights AA, the Wanderers, the Jefferson Democratic Club and the D.A.V. Chapter 7. Alex was also an avid bowler and a junior bowling coach.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Mary; sons, Alec M. Gorsky and his wife, Shirley, of Lower Nazareth; Richard J. Gorsky and his wife, Susan, of Allentown; brothers, Eugene and Donald Gorsky both of Northampton; sisters, Alice Kline of Orefield; Anna May Skrovanek of Allentown; Joyce Petrichko of North Carolina; and Marionette Mast of Northampton. He is also blessed with four grandchildren, Patrick, Christopher, Kateryna and Kaela Gorsky.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Florence Sarson and Eleanor Nonnemacher and his brother, Gregory Gorsky.

Services: Office of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Ss. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, 1140 Johnston Dr. Bethlehem, PA 18017. Visitation will be held, Friday, from 7-9 p.m. and again on Saturday from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 East Broad St. Bethlehem. A Parastas Service will be held Friday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will full military honors will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
