Alex J Kocsis

March 19, 1927 — December 7, 2010

Alex J. "Chief" Kocsis, 83, of Bethlehem, died peacefully with his loving family by his side on Tuesday, December 07, 2010 at Hospice House of St. Luke's in Lower Saucon Twp. He was the loving husband of Johanna M. Mondschein of Bethlehem. They celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary this past June.

Mr. Kocsis retired from the Bethlehem Fire Department in 1988 after serving 36 years. He also worked as a school bus driver for the Bethlehem Area School District and he proudly served his country in the US Navy during WWII.

Alex was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Bethlehem Twp.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Johanna; sons; Jeff and his wife, Michelle, of Bethlehem, Gary and his wife, Diane, of Lower Saucon Twp. and Craig and his wife Anne, of Camp Hill, PA; He is also survived by his brother John Kocher and his wife, Rita, of New Jersey; and nine grandchildren, Alexander, Jeffrey, Christie, John, Jenna, Matthew, Alaina, Diana and Katie.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held, Friday, December 10, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 3219 Santee Rd. Bethlehem, PA 18020. Visitation will be from 10 ? 11 a.m.in the church. Arrangements are entrusted to Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem.
