Alice Zambo

Alice Zambo, 98, of Pinehurst, NC, formerly of Bethlehem, PA died on Friday, December 19, 2014 in her home. Born on December 24, 1915 in Hellertown, PA, she was the daughter of the late George and Theresa (Weinhoffer) Borocky. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander F. Zambo, Sr. on August 17, 1997. They were married 58 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bethlehem Twp., and the Sacred Heart Altar and Rosary Sodality. She was also a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pinehurst, NC. She worked at Laros Silk Mill, Bethlehem, and retired from Trio Togs in Bethlehem Twp. where she worked for 20 years. She loved life and enjoyed reading, playing bingo, crocheting, knitting and playing chess. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Alexander Zambo, Jr., husband of Janet of Freemansburg, PA; daughter, Nancy (with whom she resided), wife of Manny Cauto, of Pinehurst, NC; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Gloria Ternyik of Sebring, FL. She was preceded in death by her brother, William Borocky, sisters, Margaret Borocky, Anna Kovary, Mary Hornyak and Helen Valish.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at 10a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1817 First St., Bethlehem, PA 18020 A Calling Hour will be held from 9a.m. to 10a.m. at the church. Interment will be held in Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem. Arrangements have been entrusted to Connell Funeral Home, Inc. Bethlehem.
