Alzira H Gonsalves Marrero, 79, of Bethlehem, PA died Friday, December 8, 2006 at St.Lukes Hospital in Bethlehem, PA
Alzira was born October 14, 1927 in Sao Paolo, Brazil. She was the daughter of the late Manuel and Hilda Jacinto Gonsalves.
Alzira was a member of Holy Infancy Catholic Church, a member of the Portuguese Society and was active at the Moravian House where she sang with the Moravian Stars coral group.
Alzira worked as a plug tamper for the former Hellertown Mfg. Co. in Hellertown, prior to that she worked in several factories in the Bethlehem area as a sewing machine operator. Alzira also was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother.
Alzira is survived by two daughters Hilda M. Marrero Gumulak and husband Mark of Macungie, Angela Hassay and husband Louis Jr. of Bethlehem and a son Jaime J. Marrero Jr. and wife Kristin of Bethlehem, two sisters, Zilda Guerra, and Isabel Martinez of Bethlehem and six grandchildren Jason and Adam Marish, Matthew and Christopher Hassay and Jaime J. III and Autumn Marrero all of Bethlehem.
Alzira is predeceased by her parents, two brothers, Manuel and Louis Gonsalves and two sisters Theresa Oliveira and Rose G. Teles.
SERVICES
Visitation will be at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St. Monday, December 11, 2006 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Services will be held at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. on Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at 9:20 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Infancy Catholic Church, 312 E. Fourth St., Bethlehem on Tuesday December 12, 2006 at 10:00 AM
Memorials can be made to Holy Infancy Catholic Church
Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, in Bethlehem, PA
