Anastasia “Nadia” Cehelsky, 85, formerly of Bethlehem, PA passed away peacefully with her loving daughters by her side after a courageous battle with Alzheimers disease.
Nadia was born in Lviv, Ukraine. She was the daughter of Volodymyr and Olena Luckyj (Tomovych). She immigrated to the United States in 1949. Nadia dedicated her life to her family and she loved Ukraine. She never forgot about her extended family in Ukraine and was able to visit several times in her later years. Nadia worked side by side with her husband George at the family business, Cehelsky Jewelers of Bethlehem for several decades. Nadia was an integral member of Branch 91 of the Ukrainian Womens League of America where she taught Ukrainian language and culture to many children and tirelessly sent care packages to orphaned Ukrainian children along with many other charitable works of the organization. She was a devoted member of Saint Josephats Ukrainian Catholic Church in Bethlehem and proudly sang with the Lehigh Valley Ukrainian Millennium Choir.
Nadia was the devoted wife to George J. Cehelsky for 64 years and loving mother to daughters Irene Cehelsky-Ciuk, Anya Cehelsky, Bohdanna Cehelsky, Stephanie Cehelsky and her husband Christopher DeAngelo. Nadia will be lovingly remembered by grandchildren Stefan and wife, Irene, Zachary, Dominic, Adrian and Olena and great-grandson, Terence.
Nadia was preceded in death by son George, son-in-law, Oleh Ciuk, grandson, Mark Ciuk and sister, Irene Bachynsky.

A visitation will be held Thursday, February 16, 2017 from 6-8 PM with a Parastas Service at 7 PM at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018. An Office of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 17th at 10 a.m. at St. Josaphat's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1826 Kenmore Ave. Bethlehem, PA 18018. Burial will follow at St. Josaphat's Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in Nadias name to Ukrainian Womens League of America Branch 91 or to Alzheimers Association, 617 A Main St., Hellertown, PA 18055 or to Saint Josaphats Ukrainian Catholic Church.
