Andrew Guidon

August 21, 1931 — April 13, 2008

Andrew Guidon, Jr., 76, of Freemansburg, died on Sunday, April 13, 2008 at St.Lukes Hospital.

He was born in Freemansburg, the son of the late Andrew and Anna Buckshan Guidon.

Andy is survived by his loving wife, Magdaline Polack Guidon.

He graduated as Valedictorian from Liberty High School and continued his education at Lehigh University.

Andy was the owner and operator of ABE Construction.

Throughout his life, Andy enjoyed serving his community in several capacities. He served as the Freemansburg Borough Inspector and Secretary for many years. He was a member of the board and past President of the Bethlehem Area School District. Andy served as President of the PTA for his children's' schools and was a member of the Lions Club.

Andy was also involved with local politics. He served as a campaign manager for Judge Williams and was the Chairman of the Democratic Party for several years.

He was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Bethlehem where he volunteered his time in various capacities including the church choir.

Andy will be lovingly remembered by his family, wife, Magdaline; son, Andrew Guidon III of Bethlehem; daughter Debra A. Beers of Coopersburg; and Glen Guidon of Freemansburg as well as his sister Cathy Gibson of Freemansburg. He is also survived by the pride and joy of his life, his seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother Charles Guidon and his sister Anna Buss

A visitation will be held on Wednesday April 16, 2008 from 7-9PM at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem and again on Thursday April 17, 2008 from 8:30-9:15AM with Panachida to follow at 9:15 all in the funeral home.

Office of Christian Burial with Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday April 17, 2008 at 10 AM at Ss, Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church

Memorial Contributions may be made to the church 1140 Johnston Dr. Bethlehem PA 18017

Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, in Bethlehem, PA
