Andrew J. Guff

Andrew J. Guff, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 29, 2016. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. Andy was born June 15, 1926, in Nanticoke, PA, the only son of Andrew and Margaret M. Guff. On June 20, 1953, he married Annamae Bartos, daughter of John J. and Anna Bartos, they had four children.

Andy was the owner of the Bartos Insurance Agency until he retired in 1981. After serving in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theatre during World War II, Andy attended Lehigh University receiving his degree from St. Francis University of Loretto, PA.

Andy was active in his community, serving on the City Planning Commission and Homemakers Boards. He was a past President of the Independent Insurance Organization. He also served as Northampton County Chairman for the Annual Bishops Appeal of the Allentown Diocese. He was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus and a long-time Eucharistic Minister and Lector of Incarnation of Our Lord Parish.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Annamae; daughters, Mary Beth Chu of Palo Alto, CA; Drea, wife of Paul Rosko of Bethlehem; son, Drew and his wife, Jessica of Greenwich, CT. Andy and Annamaes first daughter, Marian, passed away at the young age of 16 months in 1956. He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Zito of Florida; and his brothers-in-law, Dr. Joseph Bartos, Dr. Steve Balshi and the Rev. John V. Bartos. He was loved by his five grandchildren, Alex and Jason Chu, A.J. and Samantha Guff and Julianne Rosko.

He was a great and giving husband, father and grandfather. He loved his family, winters in Florida, his dear friends and golf.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 05, 2016, at 10 a.m. at Incarnation of Our Lord Parish, 617 Pierce St., Bethlehem, PA 18015. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the church. Burial will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Incarnation of Our Lord Parish, 617 Pierce St., Bethlehem, PA 18015.
