Andrew J. Sabol, 86, of Bethlehem, died Friday, February 2, 2007 at Holy Family Manor in Bethlehem. Born February 20, 1920 in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Andrew S. and Mary Doddy Sabol.
Andrew worked in the Forge Specialty Department at Bethlehem Steel as a Planning Engineer for 44 years. He retired in 1982. He served his country during WWII in the U.S. Navy on the USS Princeton in the Pacific Theatre.
He was a member of the former Bethlehem Steel Club, National Sokol, St. Francis Friary Retreat Group, USGA Golf Association and a lifelong member of SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church of Bethlehem.
Andrew will be lovingly remembered by his brother, Francis G. Sabol of Bethlehem; sisters, Kathryn Szabo of Wyomissing; and Theresa, wife of George Karabin of Bethlehem. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Anne H. Sabol and Mary Gasda, and one brother John Sabol.
Services: A Funeral Service will be held, Monday, February 5, 2007 at 9:30 a.m. at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 East Broad St. Bethlehem, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church 617 Pierce St. Bethlehem. Visitation will be Sunday, February 4, 2007 from 4-6 p.m. and Monday, from 8:30-9:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the church.
