Andrew Swadeba

September 21, 1916 — February 29, 2012

Andrew Swadeba, 95, of Bethlehem, died on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at St. Luke's Hospice House in Lower Saucon Twp. He was born in Dunmore, PA; the son of the late Frank and Anna Penyak Swadeba. He was the loving husband of the late Elsie Bendus Swadeba.

Andrew worked for Bethlehem Steel in the Scrap Plant as a Crane Operator and in the Coke Works Division as a Supervisor. He retired in 1979 after 40 years of service. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Master Sergeant in the Pacific Theatre.

He was a lifetime member of The Independent Citizens Club and their Financial Secretary for many years and a lifetime member of The Heights A.A. Andrew was a parishioner of Ss. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church of Bethlehem.

He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Patricia, wife of Raymond Wasilick, Sr. of Bethlehem; three grandchildren, Wendy Wasilick, Raymond Wasilick, Jr. and his wife, Lisa, and Wade Wasilick and his wife, Tamara, his

four great-grandchildren, Zachary, Joshua, Luke and Liam Wasilick and

sisters, Anna Kushinka of Bethlehem; Mary Androcizsko of Scranton; Margaret Filarsky of Clark Summit; sister-in-law, Marie Swadeba of Dunmore; nieces, nephews and his many friends at Valley Family Restaurant. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Frank and Joseph Swadeba.

Services: Office of Christian Burial with Divine Liturgy will be held, Saturday, March 03, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Ss. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, 1140 Johnston Dr., Bethlehem, PA 18017. Visitation will be held, Friday, from 6-9 p.m. and again on Saturday, from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at Connell Funeral Home, Inc.

245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018. Burial will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery, in Bethlehem.
