Angelo M. Butch

May 9, 1926 — August 25, 2010

Angelo M. "Babe" Butch, 84, of Bethlehem, died on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at Manor Care Health Services I in Bethlehem.

He was born May 9, 1926 in Orange, NJ; the son of the late Samuel and Antonetta Palmieri Butch.

Babe is survived by his wife of 61 years, Helen Butch.

He served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII and was a member of the American Legion Post #243 in South Plainfield, NJ.

Babe had careers as a partner with his cousin, Pat Ciccone, in their carpet business; he was an agent for Metropolitan Life Insurance and later worked in the IT Dept. of Public Service Electric and Gas PSE&G in NJ.

He will be lovingly remembered by his family, wife, Helen; daughter, Gale of Bethlehem who cared for Angelo until the end; a son Kenneth of Madison, WI and a son Robert and his wife, Valentina of West Orange, NJ. He will also be dearly missed by his two grandsons, Nicholas and Paul and a great grandson Joseph.

Babe was preceded in death by his brother James M. Butch of Myrtle Beach, SC.

He was known as "Mr. Fix It". Friends and family would bring him items that were broken and he always seemed to figure out how to make them work again. Babe was always there to help with a project or when you were in need of an extra hand or to pick his brain. His expression of approval often came from someone he had been bragging to about you.

His hobbies included fishing, bowling and relaxing with a beer. He was a great guy, easy to talk to, a good listener, a lover of animals and he made friends wherever he went.

Memorial contributions may be made to: Animals in Distress, P.O. Box 609, Coopersburg, PA 18036.
