Ann Carl Connors

Ann Carl Seydel Connors 76, beloved wife of Leo G. Connors passed away in Sacred Heart Hospital on Sunday May 31, 2009. She was the daughter of the late Carl and Stacia Seydel. She was born in Roxborough and took pride in being a Philadelphian at heart although she learned to love the Lehigh Valley and the Poconos.

She graduated from Mount Saint Joseph Academy and attended Rosemont College for the Freshman year. On October 18, 1952 she married Leo and they celebrated their 56th anniversary in 2009. She has been a member of Notre Dame Parish of Bethlehem for the past forty years. In addition to caring for her family, she was always active in the activities of her parishes including Girl Scouts and performing the duties of a Eucharistic Minister. As a member of the Notre Dame St. Vincent De Paul Society conference, she headed a team which was responsible for relocating a Bosnian family and a Sudanese family to the Lehigh Valley in cooperation with Catholic Charities. She also found the time to serve as a Welcome Wagon hostess for several years. She served on the Board of Indian Mountain Lakes Civic Association in the Poconos. She also found time after her children were raised to operate Christmas personalized stocking kiosks at two mall locations. She introduced most of her family to skiing, including her husband, and they had some exiting ski trips as a family. She was predeceased by a son, Leo G. Jr. and her sisters Rosemarie and Paula.



She was a wonderful mother to her ten children and grandmother to her twenty two grandchildren and great grandmother to one great granddaughter. She is survived by her husband Leo and by Kevin and wife Kate and their daughters Shannon and Riley; Deirdre and daughter Erin and son Daniel; Christopher and wife Peggy and their sons Chris and Thomas; Carl and wife Linda and daughters Caitlin, Colleen, Jordan, Lauren and Kristin; John and his daughters Paige, Rachael and Alexa; Maura and her husband Greg and their son Brian and daughter Susan; Miriam and her husband Tim and sons Timmy and John and daughters Gillian and Gretchen; Stacey and her daughter Marie and son Jimmy; Matthew and his wife Debbie. Great granddaughter Madelyn is the daughter of Caitlin.

Donations may be made to the Notre Dame St. Vincent De Paul Conference and sent in care of the church.
