Ann Marie Burkhardt

Ann Marie Burkhardt, 63, went to the arms of Jesus on Saturday, March 20th at Good Sheperd Specialty Rehabilitation in Bethlehem after a long and courageous battle. Born in Bethlehem she was the daughter of the late Jerome and Genevieve Cooke. Ann was the longtime companion of the late Ray Reuter. She was the proud mother of Richard W. Burkhardt who lovingly cared for her for over 2 years before her last hospitalization.

Ann earned a MSW from Marywood College. She worked at the former Champion Spark Plugs and as a Master Caseworker for Northampton County before retiring. She will Be missed by many whose lives she touched deeply.

Ann is survived by her son, Richard, brothers, William Cooke, Jerome Cooke husband of Helen, James Cooke husband of Denise, sisters, Betty Pagan, Mary wife of John Bragg, Carol wife of Edward Fertal and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Romiq. She will also be remembered by many nieces and nephews who adored her.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 8:30-9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Infancy Catholic Church 312 E. Fourth St. Bethlehem, PA 18015 at 10 AM. A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 29th at Holy Saviour Cemetery at 10 AM.
