Anna A. Romanchik

Anna A. Romanchik, 96, of Bethlehem Twp., passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Fellowship Manor, Whitehall. Born in Nesquheoning, PA, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Snicak) Billets. She was the wife of the late Tobias Romanchik who died on November 5, 1993; they were married for 53 years.

Anna worked in the Finishing Department at R.K. Laros for 20 years then worked for the former Kings Department Store for 20 years and retired in 1981. She was a devout Catholic and faithful parishioner of the Sacred Heart Church, Bethlehem Twp. She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and sang in the church choir. She was a 3rd Order Franciscan and a member of the Little Helpers of St. Anne. Anna was a 1952 Mrs. America contestant after winning Mrs. Bethlehem and Mrs. Pennsylvania.

She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, David and fiance, Laurel and her daughters, Sara and Emily, Jerry and Roger and wife, Maureen; grandsons, Adam and wife, Becky and Jacob and wife, Martina. She was preceded in death by her 4 brothers, Andrew (killed in WWII during the invasion of Sicily), John, Michael and George.

Viewing hours will be held on Friday, Nov. 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, and on Saturday in the Sacred Heart Church, from 9 to 10 a.m. A 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow with burial at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
