Anna M. Babich

July 5, 1925 — July 15, 2017

Anna M. Babich (nee Doncsecz), 92, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, Saturday, July 15, 2017 at the Francis E. Parker Memorial Home, Piscataway, NJ. Born in Bethlehem, PA July 5, 1925, she was the youngest daughter of the late Joseph Doncsecz and Mary Korpics Doncsecz. She was the devoted wife of Charles W. Babich, who died June 1, 2016; they were married 69 years.

Anna graduated with honors from Bethlehem High School, class of 1943. She was employed for 37 years by the Globe Times. Family, however, was the focus of her life, doting on her husband, son, daughter-in-law, two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Anna was a woman of many talents. She was an accomplished quilter, creating numerous spreads for the family and a wedding circle quilt for each grandson at the time of their marriages. A skilled baker, proud of her Windish heritage, this was reflected in her holiday and special occasion preparation of traditional cookies, streudels, kiffles, nut rolls, and pies. The outdoors and gardening with her husband provided Anna much pleasure; they were known for their wonderful vegetables, including tomatoes, enjoyed by many. Anna was also an avid reader, crossword puzzle enthusiast, and crafter. She was a former member of the Golden Hillers, Fountain Hill.

She will be lovingly remembered by her son Charles, and his wife, Kathleen of Princeton, NJ; sister, Theresa Doncsecz of Allentown, PA; grandsons, Timothy and wife Monica and Daniel and wife, Luisa; and great grandchildren Nathaniel, Elijah, Joseph, Catherine, and Anna. She was predeceased by her sister, Margaret Kovach in 2005.

Visitation will be held at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E.
