Anna Mankowski

Anna Mankowski, 91, of Nazareth, PA, died on Friday, December 27, 2013. She was born March 7, 1922 in Elizabeth, NJ; daughter to the late John and Mary (Renchko) Horbaly. Anna was preceded in death by her husband Steve Mankowski in 1973.

Anna was a graduate of Batton High School. She proudly served as the bookkeeper in the family business; Horbaly Auto Wreckers in Avenel, NJ. Anna was a member of St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church in Bethlehem, PA. She dedicated much of her time to volunteering in various capacities in both the Elizabeth, NJ and Lehigh Valley, PA communities. She was a member of the Holy Family Club and AARP.

Anna will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Sybil Heilweil (Richard), Cheryl Corson (Mark) and George Makuch (Jeanette) and great grandchildren, Nicole, Danielle, Mark, Alexander, and LeeAnne as well as her nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Maryanne Makuch and her brother, John J. Horbaly.

Arrangements have been entrusted to The Connell Funeral Home. A visitation will be held on Monday, December 30, 2013 from 9-10 am at St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church, 980 Bridle Path Rd. Bethlehem, PA 18017 with a funeral service to immediately follow. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church.
