Anne T. Maloney of Bethlehem died unexpectedly on Monday, October 3rd at the age of 89. Born April 14, 1922 in Bethlehem; she was the daughter and the fifth child of Ellen Cullen and Stephen J. Maloney.

Anne graduated from Bethlehem Business College in 1940 with honors for her penmanship. Shortly thereafter, she joined Bethlehem Steel Company. At first she was one of the "Pool" of ladies that typed orders, but was quickly recognized for her stenography skills and became a full-time secretary to Division 3-Purchasing. She became head secretary to Ivor D. Sims working for him for 33 years until her retirement in 1973.

Anne was a devoted parishioner of St. Anne's Catholic Church, a member of its Sodality of the Blessed Virgin Mary and a member of St. Anne's Pastoral Care Team.

Proud of her Irish heritage, she maintained strong ties with her extended family in County Dublin.

She is predeceased by her two brothers, John Maloney and Father Michael Maloney and her two sisters, Ann Mariam "Mary" Maloney, S.S.J. and Margaret Maloney.

Gentle, kind, generous, loving, gracious, funny with a twinkle in her eye, Anne will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held, Friday, October 7, 2011 at 11 a.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 450 Washington Ave. Bethlehem, PA 18017. Visitation will be held, Thursday evening from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Connell Funeral Home, Inc.245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem. Burial will follow services at Holy Saviour Cemetery in Bethlehem.

Memorial Contributions may be made in Anne's name to the church.
