Anthony A. Strobel

Anthony A. "Butz" Strobel, 94, of Bethlehem, died on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Whitehall Manor. He was born January 25, 1920 in Bethlehem; son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Matiska) Strobel. Tony was preceded in death by his wife Helen E. (Segti) Strobel. Tony proudly served as a paratrooper in the US Army 101st Airborne Division during WWII. He retired from Bethlehem Steel after 33 years of service in the 48" Rolling Mill and Fire Dept. Tony later retired as the Head of Security from Wackenhut Security assigned to Mack Trucks. He was a former member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church and was a member of the seniors group at Our Lady Help of Christians. Tony was also a member of the Joliette Card Club.

Tony will be dearly missed by his son, Anthony Strobel, Jr. and his wife, Shari of Whitehall; his daughter, Antoinette Hauser and her husband, Allen of Huntsville, UT; and daughter-in-law, Diane Strobel, wife of the late Joseph Strobel. He is also survived by his grandchildren, George Wiggins, Joseph and Scott Strobel, Robert, Brad and Brent Hauser, Tracy Dobra, Brad Horwath and Tamara Mitchell; as well as 17 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. Tony was preceded in death by his son, Joseph, daughter, Elizabeth, sisters, Margaret and Elizabeth and brothers, Joseph and Walter.

A visitation will be held at The Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 on Thursday, May 22, 2014 from 9-10 AM with a service to follow. Burial will be held at Cedar Hill Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society 3893 Adler Place, Suite 170 Bethlehem, PA 18017
