Anthony F. Ortwein, 87, of Bethlehem, died on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at the Hospice House of St. Luke's. He was born in Bethlehem, son of the late George M. and Barbara M. (Kugler)Ortwein. Anthony was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Pauline P. Ortwein.
Anthony proudly served in the US Army during WWII. He was a graduate of Muhlenberg College. Anthony retired from the Bethlehem Steel Corp. as a manager in the Pricing Division. He later retired from the Comfort Inn of Bethlehem as the Night Auditor/Manager.
Anthony will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Charles and his wife, Jacalyn of Boyertown and Anthony B. and his wife, Suzanne of Bethlehem Twp.; four grandchildren, Melissa Harnden, Anthony R. Ortwein, Adam T. Ortwein and Olivia Ortwein and a great grandson Griffen Harnden.
He was a parishioner of St. Anne's Catholic Church, charter member of Bethlehem Morning Star Rotary Club, American Legion, Men of Malvern Retreat Team, Serra Club of Bethlehem, St. Bernard's R.C. Beneficial Society and Past Governor of Toastmasters International.
The family will receive friends from 9-10 AM on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 450 Washington Ave. Bethlehem, PA 18017. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 10 AM. Burial will be held at Holy Saviour Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 111 S Independence Mall East Ste 411, The Philadelphia Bourse Bldg, Philadelphia, PA 19106-2521.
