Anthony M. Capuano

Anthony M. ?Tony? Capuano, 92, of Bethlehem, died Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at Moravian Village of Bethlehem.

Born April 28, 1915 in Foiano, Italy he was the son of the late Mariantonia Ruggiero and George Capuano. He was married to Grace Carchio Capuano for 71 years.

Anthony worked and owned Cappy?s Shoe Repair in Bethlehem from 1940 until 1981. He also worked in the Bethlehem Area School District in the Maintenance Department. Anthony was a member of Our Lady of Pompeii of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church its Holy Name Society and the M.O.R.A. Club in Bethlehem. He was also a former amateur boxer in the Lehigh Valley.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Grace, brothers Daniel Capuano and wife Caroline of Hellertown, Leonard Capuano and wife Anne of Bethlehem. Anthony is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two daughters Antoinette and Tina Capuano; brothers, Reverend Michael Capuano who was the Pastor at St. Lucy?s Roman Catholic Church in Manayunk, PA and Matthew Capuano who died serving his country during World War II in the European Theatre.

SERVICES

A viewing will be held Friday October 12, 2007 from 8:30-9:30 AM at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem. A Service will be held following the viewing at 9:30 AM in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Pompeii of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church 826 E. Fourth St. Bethlehem, PA 18015.

Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, in Bethlehem.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the church in Anthony?s name.
