Antonio Simao Bento, 61, of Bethlehem died on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 in Bethlehem.
He was born in Arcozelo Da Serra, Portugal; the son of the late Manuel Simao Bento and the late Maria Amaral Bento.
Antonio is survived by his loving wife, Adosinda R. Bento.
He served in the Portuguese Army in Africa for three years.
While in Portugal, Antonio worked at a Foundry as well as operated a movie reel at a movie theater and owned and operated the bar at the movie theater with his wife.
Upon arriving in America in 1985, Antonio worked in construction for 22 years as a Pipe Layer for Jude Enterprises and Chase Thomas Contractors. More recently he worked for Valley Farm Market.
He will be dearly missed by his wife, Adosinda; his daughter, Alexandra Simao and his son, Tony Abel Simao of Bethlehem as well as his two brothers, two sisters and several nieces and nephews.
Antonio was a member of the Portuguese American Club.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2011 from 8-9:30 AM at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Holy Infancy Catholic Church, 312 E. 4th St. Bethlehem, PA 18015.
Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church to help offset fees to fix the broken window.
