Arlene G. Beginnes

Arlene G. Beginnes, 88, of Bethlehem, died peacefully on Saturday, August 5, 2017. Born in Hackensack, NJ she was the daughter of the late Roy and Emily (Frankenfield) Geisinger. She was the wife of John M. Beginnes who died in 2010, they were married 58 years. Arlene was a 1947 graduate of Liberty High School. Prior to dedicating her life to her family she was employed by the Bethlehem Steel then Western Electric. While raising her daughters Arlene was active with the Girl Scouts for many years. She was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church and enjoyed baking, cooking, walking and reading.

She will be lovingly remembered by her 4 daughters: Diane Phalen of Allentown, PA, Linda Kruse and her husband Ray of Buffalo, KY, Mary Woytko and her husband George of Danielsville, PA and Anne Bivans of Whitehall, PA. She was preceded in death by her brother, Roy Geisinger; sister, Mary Hardenberg and son-in-law, W. Scott Bivans.

Viewing hours will be held in the Connell Funeral Home, 245 East Broad St., Bethlehem on Thursday August 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Friday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Panachida will be at 9:15 a.m. on Friday, in the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. Office of Christian Burial with Divine Liturgy at Ss. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, 1140 Johnston Dr., Bethlehem, PA 18017. Burial will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
