Arlindo A. Rezende

Arlindo A. Al Rezende, 80, of Bethlehem, died on Sunday, May 30, 2010 at St. Luke's Hospital.

He was born in Pardilho', Portugal on July 10, 1929; the son of the late Manuel and Luciana Rezende.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 61 years, Julia Amaral Rezende; daughter, Linda Rezende Marques and her husband Manuel; his son Albert M. Rezende and his wife Nancy all of Bethlehem; his brother Alfred Rezende of Smithtown, NY and his sister Armenia Rezende of Portugal. He is also survived by his granddaughters, Jacqueline and Diana; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Al retired in 1985 as a Foreman from the Bethlehem Steel Co. after 38 1/2 years of service.

He enjoyed his many travels with his wife and was also an avid golfer.

Though retired, Al maintained a very busy schedule. He was an Honorary Life Member of the Portuguese-American Club. He was proud of being a founder of the PAC Golf Tournament, which funds college scholarships and it held a special place in his heart. Al was an Honorary Life Member and PER of BPOE Elks #191 and was named Elk of the Year 1994-1995. He was named Clubman of the Year in 1986. He also maintained membership in the Republican Club of Fountain Hill, Fountain Hill Democratic Assoc., Jefferson Democratic Club, St. Bernard's Home of the Good Samaritans, Lehigh Southside Booster, North End Wanderers Assoc., Goodfellows Club, Heights Athletic Assoc., Fraternal Order of Eagles, Washington Republican Assoc., and the West Side Republican Club.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 4, 2010 at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 5-8 PM concluding with the Elks performing the Past Exalted Ruler Service at 8PM. Another viewing will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at the funeral home from 8-9:15AM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at Holy Infancy Catholic Church 312 East 4th St Bethlehem, PA 18015 at 10 AM.

Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
