Arthur B. Tavares

Arthur “Art” B. Tavares, 91, of Bethlehem, passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2018 with his family by his side. He was born in Philadelphia to the late Maria and Joseph Tavares. He was the loving husband of the late Maria C. (Cabelo) Tavares.

Art proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps. He worked for many years with Western Electric, AT&T and Lucent in the shops department. Art enjoyed the arts. He was a great woodworker and loved giving his works of art to his family and friends. He also enjoyed fishing and playing the Mandolin and Violin. Art was very active at St. Pauls Presbyterian Church in Newark, NJ and also at Cornerstone Fellowship in Orefield, PA.

He will be lovingly remembered by his son, Arthur J. Tavares and his wife, Deborah A.; daughter, Linda Patel and her husband, Pinakin; grandchildren, Adam, Noah, Theresa, Bruce and Mariah and great grandchild, Makayla.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 from 6-8 P.M. at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 with a funeral service to follow at 8 P.M.
