Arthur R. Donohue

Arthur R. Donohue, Sr., 82 of Bethlehem Twp., died on Wednesday, March 01, 2017 at his home. He was born in Jersey City, NJ, the son of, James J. and Gertrude (Kearney) Donahue. He was the loving husband to Marion A. (Armstrong) Donohue. They celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary this past October.

Arthur worked as a Distribution Manager for Binney and Smith, Inc. for 32 years. Prior to that, he worked for S.H. Kress Company in NYC for 10 years.

Arthur was a past president and treasurer of the Traffic Club of the Lehigh Valley and also volunteered at the Crayola Factory and Gracedale Nursing Home in Nazareth. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church where he served as an usher often times for the 9 AM Mass and was an Eucharistic Minister.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Marion; his children, Margaret Smith(Steven), Irene Follweiler(James), Arthur Donohue, Jr.(Susan), Thomas Donohue, Clare Persing(Thomas) and Paul Donohue(Gail); sisters, Gertrude Fitzpatrick and Dorothy Spiegel and his six grandchildren, Jordan, Sean, Jaclyn, Ryan, Kevin and Erin. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Jean Crothers, Robert, James, John, Donald, Joseph and Irene.

Services: A viewing will be held on Friday, March 3, 2017 at Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. There will be a calling hour on Saturday, March 4th at Our Lady of Perpetual Help 3219 Santee Rd., Bethlehem, PA 18020 from 10-11 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help or to the Traffic Club of the Lehigh Valley Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 91362, Allentown 18109.
