Barbara C. Mcilwain

Barbara C. McIlwain, of Bethlehem, died on Friday, September 13, 2013 just shy of her 106th birthday. She was born October 24, 1907 in Morton, PA; she was the daughter of the late William and Ida (Thomas) Hutchins and is now reunited with her late husband David McIlwain.

Barbara dedicated her life to her family and will be dearly missed by her daughter, Alberta and her husband Salvatore of Bethlehem; three grandchildren, Diane Guastella, Fay Roethke and Debbie Ciganek and her husband Gary; seven great grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; her sister Dorothy Lawrence and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Grace Drumheller and her brothers, Thomas, Harry, Charles, Sam and Louie.

Barbara was a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church and Auxiliary in Cape May, NJ and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Collingdale, PA.

A visitation will be held at The Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 from 9 to 9:30 am with a service to immediately follow. Interment will be held at Edgewood Memorial Park, Glen Mills, PA.
