Barbara F. Balent

Barbara F. Balent, 78, of Bethlehem, died on Wednesday, April 19, 2017. Born in Coaldale, PA, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Dorothy Neiswender. She was the wife of the late George E. Balent; they were married 54 years.

Barbara worked as a Nurses Aide for the VNA and Gracedale. She was a lifelong baseball fan and coached the 1955-1956 Junior Miss Baseball Leauge. She was a member of the Incarnation of Our Lord Parish.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Thomas & wife, Kimberly, Terry & wife, Jill, John & wife Mary-Jo, Christine Piraino & husband, Paul, and James & wife, Tamara; 13 grandchildren & 6 great grandchildren.

Viewing hours will be held at the Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, on Sunday April 23 from 6 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Incarnation of Our Lord Church, 617 Pierce St. Bethlehem. Burial will be private.
