Basil Kochan

Basil Kochan, 89, of Allentown, died on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at his residence in the Episcopal House.

He was born September 22, 1919 in Northampton, the son of the late Anthony and Ksenia Salasky Kochan.

Basil was preceded in death by his wife Rose E. DePetro Kochan.

Basil retired in 1980 after 32 years of service as a laborer for the former Universal Atlas Cement Co.

He was a very active member of the Cathedral Church of St. Catherine of Siena, Allentown, where he served as an usher.

Basil will be lovingly remembered by his family, brothers, John of Northampton and Joseph of Allentown as well as his 9 nieces and nephews.

He was also predeceased by his sisters Marie Mesineo and Ann Newmark and his brothers Stephen, Daniel and Michael.

Basil's family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 from 8:30-9:30 AM at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at 10:30 AM at the Cathedral Church of St. Catherine of Siena, 1825 W. Turner St. Allentown, PA 18104.

Burial will be held at Resurrection Cemetery, Wescosville.
