Benjamin DaSilva, 95, of Bethlehem, died Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Cedarbrook Nursing Home in Fountain Hill. Born in Veiros Estarreja, Portugal he was the son of the late Benjamin and Arminda (Pereira) Silva. He was married to Clotilde “TillIe” (Almeida) DaSilva for 61 years until her death on December 17, 2007.
Benjamin was the owner and operator of Bennys Barber Shop in Bethlehem. He was a member of the Portuguese American Club, the Roosevelt Democratic Club and the ICC Club. He was a faithful member of Holy Infancy Catholic Church in Bethlehem.
Benjamin will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Cecilia Andrews wife of Edmund of Dillsburg, Pa., and Rosemarie Oliveira of Bethlehem; sister, Sylvina Alves of Bethlehem, 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Manuel Silva.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Holy Infancy Church, 312 E. 4th St., Bethlehem, PA 18015 from 9-9:45 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem. Arrangements Connell Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Holy Infancy Catholic Church, Cedarbrook Nursing Home, 724 Delaware Ave, Fountain Hill, PA 18015, or to St. Lukes Hospice, 240 Union Station Plaza 1st Floor, Bethlehem, PA 18015.
