Bernadine J. Dancho

June 6, 1931 — February 21, 2011

Bernadine J. Dancho, 79, of Bethlehem, died on Monday, February 21, 2011 at L.V. Hospital.

She was born in Bethlehem on June 6, 1931; the youngest of nine children of the late John and Anna Anderko Gasdaska

Bernadine was the devoted wife of the late Robert R. Dancho.

She will be lovingly remembered by her seven children, Robert Dancho and his wife Karen; Barbara Schiavone and her husband Greg and David Dancho all of Bethlehem; Carol O'Neill and her husband Robert of Monroe, NY; Peggy Bressler and her husband Jeff of Crozet, VA; Mary Ellen Burker and her husband James of Catasauqua and Marsha Cullen of Whitehall.

Bernadine was "Grammy" to eighteen grandchildren - Amanda, Joshua, Aliza, Stephanie, Alina, Nicholas, Brian, Alexis, Dani, Kayleigh, Erica, Colleen, Justin, Matthew, Patrick, Cristian, Kevin, Reese and nine great grandchildren- Kyle, Marc Anthony, Angelica, Isabella, Jaxson, Ava, Delani, Gabriel and Aurora.

Family was the focus of her life. She devoted her time, energy and love to her children and grandchildren. Memories abound of Grammy flying kites at the beach, putting jigsaw puzzles together, playing pinochle, baking nut rolls and telling stories from "back in the day". She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and an occasional trip to the casinos. The family will always cherish the memories of the traditional Slovak meals that included her amazing ethnic cooking and baking.

Bernadine retired from Lehigh University where she served over 30 years as a Laboratory Technician for the National Printing Ink Research Institute in the Sinclair Building.

Bernadine was a parishioner of Incarnation of Our Lord Parish in Bethlehem and a member of the Slovak Catholic Sokols.



The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 24, 2011 from 6-9 PM at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem and again on Friday, February 25, 2011 from 8:30-9:30 AM at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 25, 2011 at 10 AM at Incarnation of Our Lord Parish 617 Pierce St. Bethlehem PA 18015.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church

Burial will be at Holy Savior Cemetery, Bethlehem.
