Bertalan Papp

Bertalan "Bill" Papp, 88, of Hellertown, PA passed away Sunday, January 24, 2010 in his home. Born November 4, 1921 in Bethlehem he was the son of the late Theresa Onhoffer and Bertalan Joseph Papp, Sr. He was married to Mary Yelicanin Papp with whom he celebrated 60 years of marriage before she passed away in 2004.

Bill worked for the Bethlehem Steel as a Machinist retiring after 42 years of service. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Bill was a lifelong member of the former St. John Capistrano Catholic Church in Bethlehem and currently a member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Hellertown.

Bill will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Bernadette wife of George DeBoard of Roslyn, PA and Deborah Hanzlik of Walnutport, PA, son, Thomas Papp and wife Vicki of Bath, PA and six grandchildren, Amanda Freed, Kara Kelly, William Papp, Nicole, Corinne, and Robert Hanzlik. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Tice.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 10-11AM followed by a service at 11 AM in the funeral home. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, in Bethlehem.
