Bridget Josephine Gallagher

Bridget “Josephine” Gallagher, 88, of Bethlehem, died on Wednesday, July 12, 2017. She was born June 28, 1929 in Ireland; daughter of the late Hugh and Margaret McGready. Bridget was preceded in death by her husband, James J. Gallagher.

Bridget dedicated her life to her family. She enjoyed her job knitting sweaters while she lived in Ireland. Bridget also loved to dance and sing. She was a parishioner of Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church; and was a friend of Bill W.

She will be dearly missed by her sons, Dr. James Gallagher of Bethlehem; Brendan Gallagher of Cranbury, NJ; and Patrick Gallagher of Staten Island, NY; daughters-in-law, Frances and Kerren; her sisters, Peggy of Ireland; Nora and Bernadette both of England; as well as her four grandchildren, James and his wife, Samantha; Katherine; Kevin and Quinn; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews in Ireland. Bridget was predeceased by her sisters, Philomena and Celine and her brothers, Michael, Gerald, Brendan and Joseph.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Connell Funeral Home. A visitation will be held on Friday, July 14, 2017 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church, 1861 Catasauqua Rd. Bethlehem, PA 18018 immediately followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be held at Holy Saviour Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society of Notre Dame of Bethlehem, 1861 Catasauqua Rd. Bethlehem, PA 18018.
