Brigitte Salontai

Brigitte Salontai, 97, of Center Valley, formerly of Bethlehem, died Sunday, August 27th at Sacred Heart Senior Living in Center Valley. Born in Germany she was the daughter of the late Willy and Margarete (Faustmann) Seydel. She was married to Elmer J. Salontai for 57 years until his death on February 21, 2005.

Brigitte was raised in Germany and during WWII, while working as a switchboard operator in Berlin for the US Army, she met her future husband. When she arrived in America, she worked for Hellertown Manufacturing as an inspector and welder. She was a member of the former St. John Capistrano Catholic Church in Bethlehem and more recently Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church in Bethlehem.

Brigitte will be lovingly remembered by her son, Elmer Salontai, Jr., grandchildren, Tamara, Kathryn, and Patricia, great grandchildren, Angelina, Alexander James, and Lyle, and one great great grandson, Toby.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church 730 W. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 10-11 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery in Bethlehem. Arrangements Connell Funeral Home.
