Bruce S. Kovaleski, Jr., 79 of Bethlehem Township, died Wednesday, December 5, 2007, at Lehigh Valley Hospital ? Muhlenberg in Bethlehem. Born in Pringle, PA on July 30, 1928; he was the son of the late Bruce S., Sr. and Katherine Garbush Kovaleski. He is survived by his wife of 53 years the former Dorothy Hinkle.

Bruce was employed by the Bethlehem Steel for 41 years before retiring in 1991. He was a metallurgical inspector in the # 2 and # 8 machine shops. He was veteran of the United States Air Force who served during WWII. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Bethlehem Township. He was a graduate of Bethlehem VoTech and attended Lafayette College. He was a talented bowler and golfer who won many Lehigh Valley golf championships, including two Lehigh Valley Amateur titles in 1955 and 1956. He coached baseball for many years at the F.B.T.A.A., coaching from little league through legion. He was a life member of the Roosevelt Democratic Club where he was also a board member and statistician. His other life memberships include: F.B.T.A.A., United Steel Workers of America local 2600, Heights A.A., Independent Citizens Club, and American Legion Post 611. He was also a member of the North End Wanderers and the Jefferson Democratic Club. He will be remembered for his wisdom, thoughtfulness, and his love for animals. He was also an avid Phillies and Eagles fan.

He will be lovingly remembered by: wife, Dorothy; sons, Bruce M. and his wife Michele of Bethlehem and Mark A. of Bethlehem Township; daughter, Patricia Davis of Bethlehem; sister, Irene Nemeth and her husband William of Quakertown; grandchildren, Ryan Davis, Kelly and Neil Kovaleski, Nick Teschner and Alexander Duffey; aunt, Stella Wraizen. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
