Camilla Lawrence, 97, of Bethlehem passed away on Wednesday August 30, 2017 at Saucon Valley Senior Living in Center Valley, PA . She was born in Bethlehem, PA to the late Anthony and Agnes Zondlo. She was the wife of the late Joseph Peter Lawrence and was preceded in death by her 2 sisters, and 7 brothers. Although Camilla worked in the clothing manufacturing business for many years, she found time to volunteer. As PTA President at Donegan School in the 1940s, she organized bake sales and baked Maypole cakes to raise money to turn an empty room at the school into a library and furnished it with books. Later, she volunteered with Meals on Wheels, Visiting Nurses Association, Musikfest, St. Lukes Hospital and Holy Family Manor where she volunteered for 35 years. Many people will remember her delicious nut rolls and kiffles, which she continued to bake into her 90s.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Regina Lawrence Knight, and son in law, William Stetson Knight, of Arizona and by many loving and caring nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held from 12-12:30PM Friday September 1, 2017 at Holy Family Manor Chapel 1200 Spring St. Bethlehem, Pa. 18017 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30PM. Burial will be held at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
