Carl W. Gehman

Carl W. Gehman, 95, of Palmerton, formerly of Bethlehem, passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2010 surrounded by his family in his home. Born October 17, 1914 in Dublin, PA he was the son of the late Bertha Moyer and Asher Gehman. He was married to Irene Billiard Repsher Gehman with whom he celebrated 20 years of marriage this past March.

Carl worked as a foreman and supervisor in the casting department at Just Born Candy for 43 years retiring in 1979. Prior to working at Just Born Candy Carl was a farmer in Bucks County. He was a member of Zion UCC in Lehighton.

Carl will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Irene of Palmerton, step-daughters, Elizabeth wife of Merritt Kuklentz of Palmerton with whom he resided, Sandra wife of Michael Karpa of Bethlehem and Judith wife of John Combs of Bristow, VA. He will also be remembered by his 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his step-son, Larry Rothrock.

SERVICES

A viewing will be held on Friday, September 24, 2010 at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 10-11 AM followed by a service at 11 AM. Burial will be at Bethlehem Memorial Park.
