Carmen D. Barletta

Carmen D. Barletta, 89, of Bethlehem, died peacefully on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at St. Luke's Hospice House, Lower Saucon. He was born in Atlas, PA; son of the late Thomas and Mary (Fabrizio) Barletta. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Bernice (Shuck) Barletta.

Carmen was employed by the Bethlehem Steel where he was a crane operator in the beam yard. He was veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in WWII and took part in the Invasion of Normandy. He was a parishioner of the Assumption BVM Church, Colesville, a lifelong member of the SE-WY-CO Fire Co. and a member of the Holy Ghost bowling league. He was an avid Eagles and Phillies fan.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Bernice; son, Thomas and wife, Michele of Bethlehem Twp.; brother, Martin of Atlas, PA; and sisters, Rose Kuznicki of Atlas, PA, and Peggy Yancheski and Shirley Gard both of Kulpmont, PA. He was preceded in death by his brother, Mike; sister, Lucy Giardano; and daughter-in-law, Lucille Barletta.

Viewing hours will be heldin the Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, on Sunday February 10th from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. A funeral service will follow, in the funeral home, on Monday beginning at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
