Carmen Vazquez Fontanez

Carmen "Kaki" Vazquez Fontanez, 88, of Bethlehem, died on Friday, October 30, 2009 at her residence.

She was born July 10, 1921 in Corozal, Puerto Rico; the daughter of the late Moises Vazquez and Alfonsa Santiago.

Carmen was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Leonidez Fontanez.

She was a member of Holy Infancy Catholic Church Bethlehem.

Carmen will be lovingly remembered by her daughter; Lucy Ramos of Bethlehem; sons, Tony Fontanez of Florida; Francisco, Leo and Manuel Fontanez all of Bethlehem. She is also survived by her sisters Maria Rodriguez of Bethlehem and Nilda Fontanez of Puerto Rico as well as her brothers, Angel, William and Blaz Vazquez all of Bethlehem; Praxedes Vazquez of Puerto Rico and Manuel Guzman of Florida; 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

She was also predeceased by her sister Nelida Vazquez and her brothers, Manuel, Mario and Agustin.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 from 7-9 PM at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at 10 AM at Holy Infancy Catholic Church, 312 E. 4th St. Bethlehem.

Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
