Carol Anne Alesick

Carol Anne McColley Alesick lost her three year-long battle with breast cancer on Wednesday, August 11, 2010. She died in her home surrounded by her family. She was 61 years old.

Upon being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007, Carol began her courageous battle always exhibiting a positive attitude and injecting humor into her daily life until she died. She touched the lives of all of the nurses, doctors and patients with whom she encountered. She was, and always will be, a true inspiration to her family and friends.

Carol was born July 29, 1949, in Bethlehem, PA the daughter of the late Robert and Mary Heiczinger McColley. She enjoyed her employment at Cedar Brook Nursing Home, Fountain Hill, until her retirement earlier this year. She often spoke of her co-workers and residents with love and gratitude for their support and prayers.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, James Alesick of Bethlehem; brother, Robert L. McColley of Bangor; son, James Alesick, Jr. of Fort Hood TX; grandson, Tristan M. Alesick of Fort Hood TX; daughter and son-in-law, Traci and David Stahl of Bangor; Her predeceased son, Michael, will be awaiting her in heaven.

Carol will be greatly missed by her family and friends, but also her beloved St. Bernard, "Bailey", and her Shih Tzu "Mary". Her grand-"furr" kids will miss her belly rubs too!

Family wishes to express extreme gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff at Lehigh Valley Hematology-Oncology, and Pulmonary Medicine Associates. A special "thank-you" to the nurses in the Infusion Center/Lab who loved and supported her until her death.

A Service to Celebrate Carol's life will take place at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. Bethlehem on Monday, Aug. 16, 2010 at 10:00AM followed by her burial at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem. Visitation will be held, Sunday, from 7-9 p.m. and again on Monday, from 9-10 a.m. in the funeral home.
