Catharine C. Novak

Catharine C. Novak, 79, of Coopersburg, died on May 14, 2015 surrounded by her family at St. Lukes Hospice in Lower Saucon Township. Born in Fountain Hill on September 12, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Calvin Christman and Hannah (Deane) Christman. She was the loving wife to William J. Novak, Sr. they celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary in April.

Catharine was a graduate of Liberty High School and West Chester University. She was a teacher in the Bethlehem and Southern Lehigh School Districts. Catharine was a parishioner of St. Josephs Church in Limeport. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and a great friend to many. She was an active member and treasurer of the Ladies Auxiliary of Post 3405 VFW. She was a dedicated Girl Scout Leader and very active in her community. Known by many as “Trink”, Catharine loved to be around people. She enjoyed music and singing, was an avid reader and loved to play cards. Most of all, Catharine loved spending time with her friends and family. Her annual Christmas craft making party became a holiday tradition for many of her friends and family. Trink will be dearly missed by all.

Catharine is survived by her husband and children, Christina Novak Vorodi (Eric) of Boiling Springs, PA; Lisa of Coopersburg; William, Jr. (Mary) of Allentown; James (Kathy) of Nazareth; and Thomas of Center Valley; as well as eight grandchildren, Kathryn, Abigail, Christopher, Nathan, Michael, Courtney, Lydia and Tyler. She was predeceased by her siblings, Charles C. Christman and Anna Marie Christman Shakespeare.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 18, 2015 at 11 a.m. at St. Josephs Church, 5050 St Josephs Rd, Limeport, PA 18060. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. in the church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Limeport. Arrangements have been entrusted to Connell Funeral Home, Inc. Bethlehem.
